Water Based Adhesives
Water-based adhesives are bonding agents in which water acts as the primary carrier for polymers such as polyvinyl acetate (PVA) or acrylics. They are typically applied as a liquid and form a bond as the water evaporates, leaving behind a solid adhesive film. Because they contain little to no volatile organic solvents, they are generally safer to handle and more environmentally friendly than many solvent-based alternatives. Water-based adhesives are widely used in applications like paper and cardboard packaging, woodworking, bookbinding, labeling, and crafts. They are especially valued where low odor, easy cleanup, and cost-effectiveness are important, though they may require longer drying times and can be less suitable for moisture-sensitive environments.
